Jack and Sid had not returned, so Corrie assumed they had gone off to search further for Ambrose and Marjorie. It was hardly surprising that she ended up having to work things out for herself, and naturally the law of averages decreed that occasionally – just occasionally, mind you – she got it a bit wrong.
