These three tribes, via' the Pimos, Coco Maricopas and the Yumas, with two others not named, were called the peaceable nations, which should be sheltered from the north- ern tribes. For this purpose several expeditions were proposed in order to conquer the Apaches, none of which, however, were undertaken.
