The indus- try was established at Buffalo, New York, by Thompson and Company. At Pittsburgh, B. A. Fahnestock and Com- pany erected works and laid the foundation of a large business in the Northwest. Conkling, at Cincinnati, erected another plant, and called it The Eagle White Lead Works.
