...''Again in praying for the conversion of the Mani- chseans he assumes that conversion and repentance will win remission of their sins and blasphemies, and if he refers casually to the power of the Keys lodged in the Church, it is apparently only to indicate that by Bap- tism in the Church they will be in a position to obtain pardon." (p. 118.) Sacerdotal absolution is given only for sins committed after Baptism. Mr. Lea seems to imply that if it were in use it would be given to the Manichseans on their reception into the Church.
