Pharmacology.
Belladonna or atropine administered internally will arrest the flow of saliva and cause dryness of the mouth ; but inasmuch as they also arrest other
... secre- tions, and are powerful poisons, their use for such purposes is inadvisable.
Therapeutics.
Y^ gr. of atropine sulphate, dissolved in a few drops of water and applied to the gum by means of a wad of blotting paper, will locally arrest the secretions from that portion of the gum in a little while, and is sometimes of use when inserting cement fillings without the use of the rubber dam.

Pharmacology.
