Our room was the almost constant resort of the men, in whatever class, who were inclined to socia- bility, and often in the hours not devoted to study it would be crowded to suffocation, nearly, with visitors. We sometimes found it difficult to get time for our own work and not unfrequently had to turn out the company vi et armis.
