The difference, quoad him naturally, was this, that Dr. William Taylor, of the Inner High, inhabited the then spac...ious apartments allotted for the Principal in the College; while the St. Enoch's divine lived, one stair up, at No. 142 of the Stockwell.
We now quit these two divines, with all due reverence, to follow out our story about their two social and esteemed precentors ; with whom we were much more intimately acquainted ; and yet we cannot boast that we were inti- mately acquainted with either of them, though our old friend Alexander Kodger, the Glasgow poet, sometimes brought us into much merriment and ylee with both of them.
