Successful plate cultures indicate that the bifidus type of organisms is very abundantly represented in the feces of certain cases of intestinal disorder, including not only cases of infantilism, but the subacute conditions already mentioned. They have been studied by Mr.
Kendall with especial care in Case I of the infantilism group and in some instances of subacute intestinal infection characterized by Escherich's blue bacillosis. I have found them also in Oases II, HI and IV.
