She was so wretched that she ended by throwing her- self on her bed and crying herself to sleep. When she awakened, it was nearly dark. Her grandfather was calling her.
There was a lovely, old curious-flowered lawn, with short sleeves and a short waist. She had brought it down from the garret, and had tried it on. It just fitted her. It had lain in her dresser ever since.
