In this model, hazard rates are postulated to be log-linear functions of the variables X. In order to incorporate time variations in the explanatory variables, a multiple-spells formulation of this model was used. This model was estimated to identify whether persistence may be an age dependent phenomenon after controlling for possible heterogeneity of the sample, and controlling for researcher success and reputation as measured by the cumulative produaivity variable.
