"Oh for goodness sake," she sighed, tugging herself out of bed and into her clothes.

Refusing to make eye contact with any of them until she at least had a vague understanding of what had put them in such a foul temper, she made her way along the corridor and banged on the door of her father's carriage. There was no answer so she let herself in. There was a time and a place for propriety and it wasn't when there was an angry mob outside your door.
