It seems to me, iinder the circumstances, that since there la no direct provision for extra compensation for actin^^ departmsnt heads, and also because of the fact that the board of Educr- ...tion, wlien it prepared the salary schedule, specifically included acting principals, it must have had in mind that acting department heads should not be compensated by way of extra compeiSatlon.
In view of tine fore^^oing, I am of the opinion that the salary schedule of the fioard of Education for the year 1944-45 does not per- mit the payment of any additional competisatlon to acting department heads .
