AN ORDINANCE To authorize the paving of Union, Baring, and Howell streets, in the Twenty-fourth Ward.
Section 1. The Select and Common Councils of the City of Philadelphia do ordain, That the Chief Commissioner of Highways be, and is, hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with a competent paver or pavers for the paving of Union street, from Myrtle street to Hutton street, in the Twenty-fourth Ward, with rubble pavement, cost of inters
...ections not to exceed four hundred and seventy (470) dollars and thirty-six (36) cents ; Baring street, from Forty- first street to Forty-second street, in the Twenty-fourth Ward, with rubble pavement, cost of intersections not to exceed one hundred and eighty-one (181) dollars and fifty (50) cents ; Howell street, between Thirty-second and Thirty- 16 122 third streets, no cost for intersections. The above mentioned paving to be done with a steam, rammer. The conditions of which contract shall be, that the contractor or contractors shall collect the cost of said paving from the owners of prop- erty respectively fronting on said streets, and shall also enter into an obligation to the City to keep said streets in good repair for three years after the paving is finished ; Provided, Said streets shall have been first dedicated or properly opened, and that the Chief Commissioner of Highways first advertise for proposals for paving said streets, and award the contract to the lowest bidder, and that the owners of property fronting on said streets shall not be charged more than the contract price.
