An Ordinance for Preventing Cruelty to Animals.
IT IS HEREBY ENACTED aS foUoWS : — 1. This Ordinance may be cited as "The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Ordinance IDOo." 2. This Ordinance shall apply to those parts of the Sudan only in which the Sudan Penal Code is for the time being in force.
3. In this Ordinance tlie w...ord "Animal" means any domestic animal or any wild animal in captivity and includes birds.
4. In this Ordinance every person is said to be guilty of cruelty to animals who commits or abets the commission of any of the following offences that is to say who (1) Overloads any animal, (2) Employs any animal which by reason of sickness wounds or infirmity is not in a fit condition to work, (3) Neglects any animal in such a manner as to cause it unne- cessary suffering.
