The branch of grazing has, through the district foresters, general supervision of the range in the National Forests. LABORATORY.
A forest-products laboratory is maintained in cooperation with the Univer- sity of Wisconsin, at Madison. Wis. The laboratory conducts the following classes of experimental investigations in the utilization of forest products: (1) The investigation of problems in experimental research; (2) experimenta work in cooperation with commercial operations to verify laboratory experi- ments on a commercial scale; (3) cooperation with individuals or companies to assist them in applying principles and processes of proved commercial value.
