This shows convinc- ingly that the necessity of holding together in large clusters of relations is the natural consequence of the social situa- tion in India, and that systems of relationship built up on opposite lines have to take these necessities into account in the same way.
No less instructive an instance is provided by the South- ern Slavonic Zadruga.
