The buildings were completed in 1893, Mr. J. Parker Smith, M.P., presiding at the opening ceremony.
In 1892 additions were made to White- inch School, in order to bring it more into line with the needs of the time.
The Rev. Dr. Bremner, of Particle Free High Church, was chairman of the Board from 1 89 1 till 1897, when he was suc- ceeded by the Rev. John Smith, B.D., of the Parish church.
The next great step in the march of education was the opening of Dowanhill School, by Lord Balfour of Burleigh, on 2nd April, 1896.
