Before we had concluded, he had ceased to breathe. On Monday, May 3rd, the funeral was held. It was attended by all our members who were at home, and by many of oiir neighbours. Our late Brother had been a faithM labourer here since 1846, his prin- cipal duty being in the Training-school, the direction of which he un- dertook in 1852. During this period, he had the pleasure of seeing many of his pupils usefully employed in the schools attached to our own Mission-stations, as well as in those co...nnected with other Missionary Societies. Wi^ these he maintained a regular correspondence, being deeply interested in the welfare of those who had leh the school, as well as in that of those still under his care. Besides i^thfully attend- ing to this, his more immediate calling, he took a share in the other duties of the Mission, and gladly employed his leisure hours in visit- ing the members of our large congregation. On the 12th of April, he, for the last time, held a catachetical meeting, when he stated to those present, that he would probably never address* them again, and com- mended them to the Lord in fervent praver.
