He is not only a lawyer by pro- fession, but is skilled in the political tactics of Ire- land, England, and continental Europe. Moreover, he is a travelled gentleman. At least, he has taken two considerable trips ; one from Ireland to Botany Bay, the other from Botany Bay to the United States !
