All of the oil and lower melting products run off and the cakes ...1 become honeycombed. This refined wax is again melted and poured in cakes of various sizes, yielding the paraffine wax so well known to every one. The melting point of the finished product will depend somewhat upon the crude oil used.
The residue which was left in the still after the wax distil- late was run off, is reduced with high pressure or superheated steam in order to raise the fire test. The exact fire test of the finished oil, of course, depends on the point to which the origi- nal distillation was carried.
