The depositor should insist upon receiving this certificate of deposit within the usual mailing time to and from Manila. He should also see that the amount therein stated cor- responds exactl}' to the amount entered upon his deposit book, otherwise he can have no assurance that the correct amount has been placed to his credit on the records of the central office. If the certificate of deposit should show any signs of erasure or should not correspond to the entry in the depost book, the deposito...r should immediately report the facts to the Director of Posts, Manila, reporting them again and again until he receives a satisfactory reply.
23. No Postal Savings Bank deposits shall be subject to taxation by the Insular Government or any provincial or municipal government in the Philippine Islands.
24. Deposits in the Postal Savings Bank which bear interest in accordance with the provisions of section 10 of Act No. 1493 shall not be liable to attachment for debt : Provided, That the amounts to the credit of any depositor in excess of the limit upon which interest is payable, f*l, 000 (in case of societies, 1*2, 000), shall be attachable the same as deposits in other banking institutions.
