What reading level is Poems book?
To quickly assess the difficulty of the text, read a short excerpt:

litis little Poem is an alteration from Mary, a Ballad, which is set to music, and of which I know not the Author. A Lady remarked to me that the cheerful cast of the second stanza, the burthen of the song, ap- peared incongruous with the mournfulness of the con- cluding one. I was therefore induced to change the tale, and compose the final stanzas entirely anew. The three first, with
... the exception of some slight variations, remain the same as in the original ballad.
