I may here also acknowledge my obligations to my brother for valuable suggestions and assistance in the course of my present work.

Among the which was one whereby the gentlemen of the out- skirts were wont to assemble together in divers places throughout Florence, and to limit their fellowships to a certain number, having heed to compose them of such as could fitly discharge the expense.
