The city of Hillsboro, comprising a territory in which only wealthy people reside, was reported by Chief Claude Hirschey as being entirely free from the vexing police problems of unemployment and Communism. Chief Hirschey, as well as Commissioners Newell and Stone, told of the excellent work being done in Hillsboro by the City Council, the Red Cross and the city employees in the matter of raising funds and taking care of the needy cases brought to the attention of those bodies.
