After the material has accumulated on the teeth for a few days, it is impossible for the patient to remove the deposits, and he must report to the dentist.
Dr. Francis says, ''Some mouths, so far as the tooth brush is concerned, are unexplored caverns of miniature type, and, others which receive an occasional visit from the intrusive explorer, are not in a very much better con- dition for the little care bestowed upon them." Expressions as the one just cited should urge us to the utmost to bring about a change of thought in the minds of our patients toward the cleanliness of their mouths.
