A notion that emanated, proba- bly, from general practitioners of medicine, who, as a class, are only too willing to escape the responsibility and annoyance of treating in- sane persons under ordinary circumstances; and has been confirmed by the claims of distinguished specialists administering the affairs of stately institutions, by which their occupation and pretensions have been greatly dignified.
As an economical problem it would be well to know more about this matter than is now known.
