The only records showing a significant variation from these average increases were those indicating stresses in the steel girder and here the measured strains were so small that a greater spread in ratios was not surprising. It is of interest to point out in connection with the relatively low impact effects observed in these tests that the maximum increase over the static live-load values assumed in the design of the aluminum girders was 55.5 percent.
