At 9 a. m. , Vice-President O. C. Ludwig called the asso- ciation to order, jn the absence of President Jobe, who was attending the bedside of G. B. Farmer, at St. John's hos- pital.
The roll was called. A quorum present.
The minutes of the first day's meeting were read and ap- proved.
W. M. Kavanaugh offered a motion that the secretary be instructed to proceed to enforce the collection of the amount agreed upon, from each of the members wh...o had ordered contracts made for berths in the sleeping cars on the excur- sion to Chicago, and who had failed to settle for it, which motion was made the special order for J o'clock this after- noon.
C. C. Colburn gave notice that on to-morrow he would offer an amendment to the by-laws.
W. W. Folsom offered the following as an amendment to act III., section i : Provided, That editors or proprietors who have been engager) In the buainefls for a leas period than six moDths, may be admitted as honorary members, to be trans- ferred to active membership at the expiration of six months.
