Tlie Presbyterian Societies are numerous, and some of them are distinguished for great zeal and liberality. It is difficult, in several instances, to define wherein they differ, or to discriminate the spheres of some from others. Happily there is a desire on the part of some to combine in foreign work, and if this were carried yet farther, and developed into organic unions, both at home and abroad, the world would be instructed, the Church strengthened, and missions conducted with greater efficiency, economy, and success.
