Indeed, so frequent is the stag (or some similar horned animal) found upon Gezerite seals, that I had begun to suspect that it Avas a totemistic device belonging essentially to some family or tri]>e of which Gezer Avas one of the headquarters. If this be so, it is very interesting to find the same device recurring at Taanach ; indeed, it is interesting in any case.
