Such a babel brought its usual quietus in the forms of Mother and Father Auton, who appeared at the nursery door and commanded silence, — you might hear "a pin drop " in an instant.
This interruption was lucky, because the party had just arrived at the " berrying ground," and were already engaged in picking the largest specimens from all sides of the room. The pails were filled in " no time," and the family were at home again in " a twinkling." Somebody squeezed the kitten in the wrong place, which caused the neighbor's child to squall, leap from the flying vehicle, and rush under the trundle-bed with H.
