" During Miss Alcott s last illness she wrote: "When I get upon my feet I am going (D. V. ) to devote myself to settling poor souls who need a helping hand in hard times. " Many pictures and some busts have been made of Miss Alcott, but very few of them are satisfactory. The portrait painted in Rome by Healy is, T think, a very good one.
