...The Commissioner : The first question is in regard to the admission of this evidence. I have looked over these oases 176 cited yesterday. My impression was very strong then that the testimony was not admissible, and the examination has confirmed that opinion.
In the first case cited, in Parker, it is there laid down that the general rule is that there must be a prior knowledge of the handwriting of the party ; but it then says there are some exceptions, and one of the exceptions mentioned, is where the testimony is so conflicting that a result cannot be arrived at without it.
