He was pouring out streams of bitterness at church members because some of them owed him a York shilling or so. I said to him, " Suppose you give them a rest now and tell me what you think of Jesus." He replied, lowering his voice, "Jesus I — if we had more like Him we should have a happier world.'* It shows something great in a man when he softens at the thought of Jesus.
