Dr. Bush and myself were boys together in Rochester; and while he has spoken of the whole of Mr. Finney's work there at different periods, what I have to say must be con- fined to his first visit, which occurred in the latter part of the 2 26 Reminiscences of year 1830. We had heard of his labors in the farther east ; and 9, great many stories preceded him concerning his methods of work, which created some prejudice against him, so that some apprehension was felt about inviting him.
