The two predominant characteristics of Humanity (be it clothed in black skin or white) are undoubtedly " Vanity " and " Selfishness." There is no excuse for the first ; for let the most ignorant measure their quaHfications at their highest point, a little serious reflection ought to confirm them as to their entire unprofitableness, and their wretched poverty and capacity for good.
