This is according to Dr. Gorham and Mr. Woolman. We did not deem it necessary to revisit these two places, as Dr. Gorham's notes and the information which we gained through conversations with a number of persons who were familiar with that part of the river convinced us that there are no obstructions of any importance above Lake Pend d'Oreille.
