15 DINNER TO CHARLES DICKENS I suppose that with the single exception of Shakspeare, it is felt that in ahnost every delin- eation of female virtue and goodness, there is always something inadequate ; something which does not completely fulfill the desire of our heart, and which does not accord with our own haj)py and blessed experience. (Great applause.) I shall proceed no further in this course, which I again say I intended to avoid, and I shall conclude with a very few words.
