Thorough work is being done in all of the Territorial colleges, the requirements being equal to those of the schools of any of the States. In addition to the colleges under Territorial supervision, there are a number of schools and colleges conducted by religious organizations, the most prominent of which are the Congregational College, at King- fisher; Epworth University, established by the Methodist Episcopal Church, at Oklahoma City; the Baptist College, at Blackwell; the Christian College, ...at IJnid, and the CathoHc College for girls, at Guth- rie, all flourishing and well patronized. DEAF MUTES AND BLIND. The deaf mutes of the Territory are cared for and educated by con- tract in a private school located at Guthrie. The attendance at the close of the present school year was 107. The Territory pays $275 per year for each pupil in attendance, the total cost during the past year aggregating $16,925.60. The school is in an excellent condition, all the pupils receiving the best of care and treatment and making satisfactory progress along educational lines.
