The lines for which definite provision was made included the routes from the left bank of the Desaguedero River, opposite Ulloma, to Oruro; from Oruro to Cochabamba; from Uyuni to Potosi, and from Potosi to Tupiza. These lines, with those already existing, which place La Paz in communication with Lake Titicaca, assure the through connection, since the section from Tupiza to Quiaca, on the frontier of Argentina, is provided for under a treaty entered into with the Argentine Government several years ago.
