The pilots Cockerell and Broume Left Assuan next day, And in the evening reached Khartum Six hundred miles away.
But engine trouble here occurs, Two nights they must remain, Upon the 10th the engine 'purrs' ; They land at Jabelein.
Here serious water-trouble breaks For several days their flight, Then speeding southward towards the Lakes Mangolla's 'drome they sight.
From Cairo eighteen hundred miles O'er desert wastes they flew, Then skirting Lake Nyassa's isles They came to Kisimu.
Tabora's 'drome they reached next day, But leaving it they crashed, No more could they pursue their way, Their 'plane to atoms smashed.
