It was my good fortune to be assigned to co...mmittee work with this man. As members of the same subcommittee of the Committee on Revision of the Laws, requiring detailed and continuing work, we were thrown verj' closely together, and I had the opportunity in the intimate association in which we were neeessarily thrown to observe very fully the manner of man he was. The character of this committee work seemed congenial to the tastes and preference of the man, and he at once impressed me with the entfiusiasm and spirit that inspired him in the work.
