Now that enough food had been bought in for mama and her entourage—her Aunt Sylvia, two lady’s maids and a handful of other servants—the menus had been planned and the guest rooms had been prepared, there was nothing left to do but wait.
Eleanor peered out of the window of the Box Room, so called because of its shape, and twined her hands together. Heavy clouds hung in the sky and she prayed they did not bring rain.
Being trapped indoors didn’t appeal, even if they did have much to catch up on.
