...ecember 21st. — Learn from the Rev. — Stowe, that he killed a Wild Duck in Flatts' Bay, near his own house, a few weeks ago, and which, from his description, particu- larly of the webbed hind toe, I had reason to believe was a Golden Eye. On showing him the skin of that bird, he immediately recognised it as the duplicate of his own. He described the Duck as a clever diver. Its crop was found to be stuffed full of the minute crabs which abound in the floating gulf weed.
