This change does 'not involve any particular risk, as blanking operations on ribbon stock do not require the operator to work with his fingers under the ram. As shown in the illustration, the guard consists of two hand levers A, one at each side of the press. These levers connect with the equalizer B which is mounted on the clutch rod. This equalizer swings about a pivot at its center, so that pushing down only one of the hand levers does not have any effect upon the clutch.
