There are extensive tracts of hardwood land in the vicinity, furnishing timber for shipbuilding, and supplies of fresh provisions and water may be readily obtained, LIGHT. — On the west point of Harbour island stands a square light- house 37 feet high, and painted white ; exhibiting from an elevation of 45 feet above high water a fixed 'red light, visible in clear weather from a distance of about 9 miles.
