The clothing should allow free play of the limbs, and ex- pansion of the chest, flannel being always worn next the skin. Chill, which is so often produced by sitting in a draught after perspiration, must be carefully avoided. The spontaneous activity of children is more conducive to general strength and healthy brain-growth than any formal gymnastics. The latter can never form a complete substitute for games.
