ATBIPLEX KOCHIAKA Maiden.
(Koch's Saltbush.) Fruiting bracte united at the base; 5 to 7 mm. long, 6 to 8 mm. broad; similar in structure to those of A. vestcariuj but broadly truncate, the length not more than half the width, and with the bladder-like appendages more regular, oval, and much longer, greatly exceeding the truncate apex.
Seed retained in the bracte, borne at the base; two forms, as in ^4. veswariaj dis- tingui...shable only by color; 1.5 to 2 mm. in diameter. Radicle very prominent, subapical, slightly higher than in A. vesicaria.
