Its foreign operations are carried on in Africa, South America, China, Japan, India, Mexico, and several countries of Europe. In India it has met with much success, chiefly in Ouclli since the Mutiny of 1857, where it was established by Dr. Butler. The number of foreign missionaries is 99, and of assist- ants 70 ; there are 218 native ordained preachers.
