The copy of Ferguson's ' Lays of the Western Gael ' sent to Dr Todd had associations for him connected with their time in Donegal, as will appear in the fol- lowing letter : MY DEAR FRIEND, Thank you very much for your beauti- ful book, which comes fragrant with memories of Carrick, Sliabb Liacc and Glencolumbkille.
